Being selected to represent Zimbabwe at the Russia-Africa International media forum for young journalists in Russia, Moscow was really an honor and a stepping stone in my career.

I am comforted and inspired by the level of life-changing and history making commitments that came out of the forum on how best to report on Sustainable Development Goals.
  • Brandon Mazumba
    Freelance TV & Radio Producer
    Zimbabwe
The Forum through its punctilious seminars and sessions was an opportunity for education and development in an environment full of competent journalists and scholars- youths and veterans- with varying degrees of influence in the media fraternity both in Africa and Russia, therefore opening an insight on the impact and functionality effect of the media in both Russia and Africa.
  • Francis Lungu
    Zambia
The First Russia-Africa Media Forum held in July 2023 provided me with an opportunity to share knowledge and information on how best to change the Russian and African narrative as media practitioners.

Another of such a platform would further enhance the interaction in shaping the discourse of the two regions.

Following my article emanating from the First Russia-Africa Media Forum, I was nominated at the Honest View Media Award which took place in Moscow on December 11, 2023, becoming the first-ever African journalist nominee.
